Great post tight pants. Good writing too. If you live near los Angeles I will buy a drink. Don't worry about my being a spy or a snitch. I could have gotten my "Evil Apostate" certification with flying colors a long time ago, but a minor technicality makes it impossible; I was never a JW.

Do you think the general public cares about former Jehovah's witnesses?
by Christian Gutierrez ini was wondering if you guys think if the general public cares about our stories or if they even care what the watchtower does to people??
?.

Do non JW-care? Only if they were part of a cult themselves. Otherwise, JW world is a remote place of weird people who don't celebrate Christmas or birthdays.
Even the young guys and ladies raised in the "truth" don't care much, especially if they were never dunked in the pool. -

"Dont worry - goD will show them. Kill them all - including 50 million unborn babies (isnt that abortion?) and 150 Million babies under 1 year old."The logic and math don't work here.
For 9 months we gather 50 million (unborn). You just add three more months (to complete one year) and we are supposed to believe it is possible to have an extra 100 million. That's going to be one busy quarter working at a rate six times the rate of the previous 9 months. That's a miracle

Judge acts to limit Watchtower's influence on child.
by Lee Elder ina judge in the uk has ordered strict limits on a jw father's ability to let the watchtower indoctrinate his child.
not sure if this is precedent setting, but i think the judge is spot on.
the reasons are explained in the article.. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/2017/06/11/jehovahs-witness-agrees-not-show-son-religious-cartoons-risk/.

I like the decision, but surprised the judge went that far. The "freedom of religion", or in this case the freedom to indoctrinate, is being restricted for parents, and freedom from religion is more available to children. I like it!

How do I get you to Visit my house
by I have question inokay simply put i am not of your faith however my faith allows me to learn and study other people's beliefs and faith's.
now i believe at least from what i have seen that you people are humble and respectful, when interacting with me.
and that watchtower book thing u hand out has actually helped me in the past.... taught me that resentment only hurts me and not the person i resented, that was really needed at the time.

"Taught me that resentment only hurts me and not the person I resented, that was really needed at the time"
You don't need the watchtower books or their "ministers" to learn that. All you need is a working brain and some honesty with yourself. If that doesn't work get non-religious self help books. But mainly stay away from cults, which create a very appealing image to draw you in, and later abuse you and exploit you.

Bret Weinstein: Evergreen State College Racism Controversy
by Simon ingreat discussion, well worth watching.
covers racism, the bubble that some people live in vs the reality that resulted in trumps election and more (and jws get a mention too).. the rubin report (and many of the guests he has on) repeatedly knock it out of the park with sensible, calm and important analysis and commentary on important issues to our society.. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-feapcgxnyy.

"...the left now only values shouting and punching"
Define left. Do we start at some "median" in the political spectrum and 50% on one side is left and the other 50% is right? "left" and "right" have become so overused to describe the guys/ladies with whom I don't agree. I think it is time to work with the specifics of each case and put forth sound arguments without attaching useless labels to the other side.

by Funchback inhttps://www.jw.org/en/publications/magazines/wp20120201/adolescent-questions-faith/.
this article doesn't touch on the topic of what a parent shoud do if their teenager has made an educated decision to stop attending meetings.
but, hey...what else do you expect from the watchtower coporation?.

Fact: Witness parents strive to inculcate love for God in their offspring, just as the Bible commands them to. (Ephesians 6:4) Nevertheless, they realize that when a child becomes an adult, he or she will make a personal choice with regard to worship [and be lovingly shunned if they make the wrong choice].—Romans 14:12; Galatians 6:5.
